So what is MapMyRide?

MapMyRide is a company set up to widen the appeal and availability of vehicle tuning/remapping throughout the UK and Ireland. We sell direct and through our associated company Top Gear who are our sole UK distributors, via their network of franchise operators and our mobile mapping team. Different levels of mapping available

Remapping is the name and process for tuning a modern day car and enables us to make a standard car without modifications go faster or drive smoother, especially when it is turbocharged as so many cars are these days. Remapping is even more important when a car has been modified with induction, exhaustion, wheels, suspension, larger turbo etc and this is where our principle of different maps at different prices all started. We sell entry level maps at £199 inc vat, standard maps and custom mapping using our rolling road facility all with upgrade facilities. (click here for more details)

How do you know if your car could benefit from a map?

Simple, just give me, I’m MAX, a call on 0870 300 2354.

I will ask you a few easy questions like what car do you have (make, model, etc)? What age is it? Has the car been modified at all, if so with what? What would you like to achieve as a driving experience?

I will answer you openly and honestly, not all cars can be mapped but we may still be able to achieve what you want using another route.

And whatever route you decide to go I will give you the details of your nearest Top Gear centre so we can arrange to Map Your Ride!

Oh and we can talk money and work your deal!

When you come to have your car mapped we will ask you to read and sign the following disclaimer, unfortunately we are unable to map your car without this being signed.

We are asked to map cars for lots of different reasons, from improving the towing ability of the vehicle through to complimenting other physical tuning additions such as induction and exhaust kits.

At MapMyRide we see many different cars, cars that are brand new and others that are 5 or more years old, cars with a few hundred miles and others with many thousands of miles on the clock. We don’t know how the cars have been driven or serviced and their current state of repair. If we are asked to map a car we may want to look over the vehicle and decide it is not in either of our interests to proceed, but rest assured 98% of vehicles are fine to map. If we don’t proceed we will tell you why!

Every vehicle has components that wear and over the miles deteriorate until eventually they fail. When putting any additional stress on an engine you are going to affect this wear and tear and in some cases speed up the process. We would advise you to be aware of such items as turbo chargers as one example. At MapMyRide/Red Dot Engineering we feel we should make you aware of this as we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for any such failure due to the addition of a vehicle remap.

Before we are willing to map your car you are required to read and sign this disclaimer, a copy will be given to you with the payment receipt.

If I want a remap how do I get it?

I will want details of your car etc and take a deposit from you over the phone. Then I’ll make a date to come and Map Your Ride, you could always come and see me at Watford and have a power run on the rolling road!
